Time and again, also after Narendra Modi’s historic election victory, we see a correct pro-Hindu message take an erroneous nationalist turn which detracts from its original pro-Hindu intention. This is precisely how the Nehruvians want it: they have always tried to channel the Hindu energies towards an anachronistic anti-Britishism, sometimes transformed into an anti-Americanism, and far too many Hindus have merrily taken the bait.
The occasion is the Indians (repeat: Indians) appearing on Western TV stations or in Western newspapers to send an anti-Modi and anti-Hindu message. Instead of taking that message on, some Hindus change it in their imagination towards a neo-colonial message, bringing in Sonia Gandhi as the reason why a Western TV station would broadcast this anti-Modi message. The West is said to dislike Narendr Modi because he is an antipode to Sonia Gandhi.
Well, I am a Westerner, live in the West and follow a broad scala of Western media, and I can say with a 100% certainty that the Western anti-Modi sympathies have nothing whatsoever to do with the person and provenance of Sonia Gandhi, much less with being anti-native.
Was Manmohan Singh any less native? Is Arvind Kejriwal more foreign than Modi? For anti-Modi Indians and for their Western dupes, Narendra Modi is not insufferable because he is native (so were most preferred alternatives) but because he is seriously pro-Hindu.
For the umpteenth time, I catch Hindu activists in the act of living in an imaginary world, an anachronistic worldview where the political equations and the nationalist high ground of the colonial age still prevail. Even at this auspicious hour, the chance of a lifetime, but with battles ahead, I can see Hindus charting a purely imaginary topography for their Kurukshetra. They are preparing for an imaginary battle, and meanwhile setting themselves up for yet another defeat in the real world.
It is not that anyone minds Hindu spokesmen being anti-white. We are so used to it that it only evokes a yawn. Of course, anti-white rhetoric has bad connotations by now: any African dictator who has his own failed policies to defend, will blame his failure on “white” machinations and the heritage of colonialism. As this is dead since more than a half-century, it becomes more and more anachronistic, but it is still tried. So we associate anti-white rhetoric with evil and failure, but otherwise we are quite numb when we hear it.
Indians who vent anti-white rhetoric think themselves as very brave, for they are actually doling out a kick to the long-dead horse of white colonialism. Hear that, Mr. Viceroy! But far from being brave, they are Don Quixotes attacking imaginary foes all while leaving the real foes in peace.
The wrong thing with anti-white rhetoric must not be understood in moralistic terms; “anti-white racism” or so. The bad thing about it is that it shows how Hindu activists are still not ready for victory in the real world. In their imaginary world, the West is plotting against India and using the secularists and minorities as sepoys. In the real world, the West is only modestly interested in India, but is being turned anti-Modi by the Indian secularists and the minorities (some of which are but the Indian franchise of multinationals, esp. the Christian and Islamic communities).

Another very recent remark was from a Hindu who hoped that the Christian Churches in India would transform themselves into an “authentic Indian Church”. Ah, so the problem is that the Churches are not sufficiently “Indian”? And an authentic Church will be less interested in converting the Hindus?
Naïve Hindus seem to think that the mission is a ploy by foreign nations. In reality, Christianity uses nations until they lose power, then it crosses the floor to whatever new power comes next. If India becomes powerful, the missionaries will become great patriots — and all the more eager to convert India. So, thinking in term of “national” vs. “foreign” is a sure way to misconceive the problems Hinduism faces.

I was not aware that Rajiv had actually converted to Christianity. If so, he could not also have been a Russian agent ! Sure, we all know about his vote bank politics (Shah Bano case).
However, it is no less a person than Dr. Subramania Swamy who said that had Rajiv lived he would have become an excellent PM!
Re: the weakness of the Hindu male for . . . . My point was that it was not just a weakness on Rajiv’s part for a white woman. She happened to be a good looking white woman ! In contrast to the possibly horsy type of British woman who inhabited Cambridge she would have been immensely attractive. Further, there were the financial aspects . . . .
At any rate, no it was not to spite you. I was somewhat offended by your remark about Hindu males. They are afterall compatriots, they are our Hindu brethren and it is important that we do not perpetuate stereotypes in the Wendy Doniger fashion. Your remark is similar to the one made about all Western men hankering after non white women. We can do without both generalisations !

Hardly a Doniger generalisation, Madam Professor! The reference is to a Nehru political scion not a Hindu deity. And the point being made is that the brown man must also accept some responsibility for an awful circumstance with a more terrible outcome. The Italian lady didn’t come to India by herself, nor did she mount the Dilli gadi on her own accord. Blame the lady for sure but include the brown man in the blame.

Rajiv Gandhi was the man who introduced the devil into India. Nobody else, not his corrupt mother or even his rowdy brother—it was he who brought in the Italian witch who would eventually rise to stir the Congress brew.
It was Rajiv who converted to Christianity and who as PM brought a Pope to India who made the most arrogant public promise, on Hindu soil, to convert all of Asia to Christianity in the 21st century. It was Rajiv who reversed the Supreme Court order on Shah Bano and as a result made every Muslim divorced woman a potential destitute. It was Rajiv who was on the KGB payroll even as Indian prime minister. This is astonishing! Had he lived, do you think the Russians would have given him a raise in pay?
Rajiv Gandhi was the great deceiver of Indians of every colour and kind and we in India are still suffering the consequences of his deceits till today!
Sure, he opened the gates of the Rama Janmabhumi and allowed the Ramayana and Mahabharata epics to play out on TV. And Hindus are satisfied with these few crumbs from the devil’s table–are they!?

The anti Hindu comment about Hindu males and white women is somewhat exaggerated and reveals a stereotypical attitude similar to the Wendy Doniger generalisations about Hindu behaviour. One can also say this as many Westerners themselves used to say in former times : these women are more easily accessed than their Indian counterparts. Not an unlikely explanation for lonely Hindu men in Western metropolises, especially in earlier times. During those days, it is said that some Hindu men ended up marrying the young ladies (!) whom they picked up during visits to various places. And while Rajiv showed poor taste, it must be said that the lady as a young woman (judging from early photos) was quite a Playboy magazine type of attractive woman. There are also reports that she used to finance R’s extravagant life style. Further, that this aspect was deliberately planned by hostile agents in order to catch him in her net. The rest is history.
Post script : Rajiv was also fascinated by Hindu starlets (so the story goes). Further, that he was planning a divorce when the tragedy happened. Further still, that he had the makings finally of a fine PM when he was mowed down.

I feel the best comment irrespective color, caste, creed for Christianity and is the comment of Archbishop Desmond Tutu:
“When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said ‘Let us pray.’ We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land”
Well this act was repeated in all continents and countries. In keeping with modern times , the methodology has changed since science and technology has dominated the world. So the above quote of Desmond Tutu with significant variants is applied in the post science and technology world.

I agree completely with Dr Sen. It is not just a matter of business but of politics and race and civilizational values. Western imperialism continues today overtly in US and Russian foreign policy and covertly through the missionary activity of the Roman Catholic and Evangelical Churches. Even the Russian Orthodox Church has missionaries in India! There is also the subversive activity of the hundreds of foreign or foreign-financed NGOs that operate in India through converts and quislings.
However, Dr Elst does have a point about Hindu racism.
The most irrational and cruel of the anti-white Hindu racists are the ones with the best Macaulay educations, who have held tenures in elite Macaulay institutions, travelled abroad, sometimes lived their whole lives abroad, and who are nominal or non-practising Hindus by their own admission. They all know a little Sanskrit and they all claim that the white man has no adikara to comment on, or even study, Hindu subjects.
These bigots are led—need we say it—by a Mylapore Brahmin whose contempt for the white man is so great he becomes tongue-tied when he sees one. He writes good articles in the secular media and defends dubious politicians when the need arises. The Hindu Samaj values his contribution.
One of his cohorts is another Mylapore Brahmin who writes theses on the Indus Valley civilization and, reportedly, likes to surf the Internet’s porn sites. Milky white thighs have always been a weakness of the Indian male, and, indeed, we would not have to suffer the presence of the Italian lady if it were not for the fact that the Nehru scion couldn’t keep his pants buttoned in London.
What the Indian Hindu intellectual cannot countenance is being contradicted or proved wrong by a white interlocutor. Such a circumstance brings out all their pettiness, all the abuse they can muster on the personal level, all the prejudice of race that has been collected over centuries.
Another curiosity of the anti-white Hindu racist is that many of them are retired Marxists. How a Hindu can rationalise being Marxist and Hindu at the same time is an Indian rope trick that nobody can explain.
Many, too, are Indians who have suffered grievous racial indignities abroad. Their racism is a reverse racism. But it isn’t any more morally justifiable than the original white racism, and it doesn’t serve the Hindu interest in India.
Our point is that it is the Hindu interest in India that is to be served whether by native-born Indian brown men or by white men from abroad who have made a sincere lifetime commitment to Hindu India—as, indeed, has Dr Elst.

Racial hostility is indeed a potent background in European and Chinese hostility towards India and Hindus. The generic church is a vehicle for Western domination through the creation of a treasonous Indian Christian constituency in India. Muslims are their ally for keeping Hindus off balance and on the run. Sonia is useful because she is only loyal to the church and the country of which she remains a citizen, namely Italy. The idea that the Indian left, the likes if Amartya Sen and Romila Thapar determine US policy towards India is plainly absurd. Wiki Leaks confirms that Teesta Setalvad was a US State Department asset, she was not making their policy! The West and the US are mortal enemies of Hindus.
